Activation Of The Great Cycles Spectacles 1/14/2012

This is a transcription of the opening segment from STS9's Great Cycle Spectacle on 1/14/2012.

Good day to the entire world. Heartfelt greetings to all. Hello to the residents of far skies. We wish you everything good from our planet. Greetings to the inhabitants of the Universe from the 3rd planet of the star, the Sun. Greetings to all peoples of the Universe- Peace to you always.

Friends of space, how are you all? Come visit us if you have time. We come in friendship to those who are friends. To the makers of music, all worlds, all times; We send greetings on behalf of the people of our planet. We step out into the solar system, into the Universe seeking only peace and friendship. To teach if we are called upon. To be taught if we are fortunate.

We know full well that our planet, and all of its inhabitants, are but a small part of the immense Universe that surrounds us. And it is with humility and hope that we take this step.

If someday a far off civilization intercepts this transmission and can understand these recorded contents, here is our message:
This is a present from a small distant world. A token of; our sounds, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts & our feelings. We are attempting to survive our time so that we may live into yours. We hope someday, having solved the problem we've faced, to join a community of Galactic civilizations. This Spectacle represents our hope, our determination and our goodwill in a vast and awesome Universe.
                                                                                               - In Lak'ech

Download: 6/19/2004 STS9 Sits In With String Cheese Incident

Long before STS9 held their own event there, Horning's Hideout was definitively known as the spot to catch String Cheese Incident. In the summer of 2004 SCI held their annual event and invited Sound Tribe to play an opener slot on the 16th. We were all excited about this- it was a big deal for them to be in attendance at this event. At the end of the first set Sector 9 sat in with SCI for the song "Rivertrance". Now, as much of a treat as that was imagine what it was like to see STS9 + SCI + Jamie Janover + Aaron Holstein + Scott Law + Keller Williams play together for a 56 minute long jam in the 4th set? WOW! Must listen.

Set 1: One Step Closer, Rhum 'n' Zouc, Rhythm of the Road > 45th of November, Water, Sweet Melinda^ > Orion's Belt
Set 2: This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody) > Jam > Desert Dawn, Joyful Sound, Miss Brown's Teahouse, Boo Boo's Pikanic, Dirk, Rivertrance¹
