01/01/11: An Evening of Sector 9

" I see a revival of the funky organic Sector 9 upon us." were the words that I posted over on Headstash moments before STS9.com officially announced a new show with a reference to a special night of Sector 9. Sometimes I even freak myself out with how oddly well I know this band...

Here is my writeup on the newly added Colorado show:

STS9 has announced a last minute show addition to follow the 3 night run in Denver over New Years Eve. This show is being billed as " 'The Polar Eclipse' best described as an Evening of Sector 9 and STS9." This intimate event is taking place on January 1st, 2011 (01/01/11) at Aspen, Colorado's Belly Up. This is sure to be an amazing concert experience for all that attend. Friday the 13th for STS9

STS9 celebrated Halloween with shows at Austin, TX’S famed Stubb’s on October 29 and 30. The band’s Saturday night gig opened with a DJ set by STS9’s David Murphy and Hunter Brown as Murphy Brown. The rest of the band then joined them onstage in Jason Voorhees-style hockey masks to play the theme from Halloween. The members of STS9 continued to wear the hockey masks throughout their first set.

STS9’s performance also featured only the second live version of the original “Oil and Water,” as well as a selection of older, rarely funk-oriented original songs.

CLICK HERE for details and showtimes.  Visit the ReGENERATION website, join our Facebook, and help us tell the world about this amazing film in any way you can!  Thank you all for your support!
ReGENERATION premiered earlier this year at the Seattle International Film Festival. Narrated by Academy Award Nominated actor Ryan Gosling, ReGENERATION features some of our country’s leading scholars, social activists, and media personalities, including Howard Zinn, Noam Chomsky, Talib Kweli among a slew of others.

The film features three intersecting stories of students, parents, and artists all looking for their place in society. Together they capture the thoughts and feelings of today’s struggling generation as some of the worlds leading scholars, activists, and media personalities provide their insight into the ideas and movements that can inspire change.
