Friday the 13th for STS9

STS9 celebrated Halloween with shows at Austin, TX’S famed Stubb’s on October 29 and 30. The band’s Saturday night gig opened with a DJ set by STS9’s David Murphy and Hunter Brown as Murphy Brown. The rest of the band then joined them onstage in Jason Voorhees-style hockey masks to play the theme from Halloween. The members of STS9 continued to wear the hockey masks throughout their first set.

STS9’s performance also featured only the second live version of the original “Oil and Water,” as well as a selection of older, rarely funk-oriented original songs.
