Rumor: 5 Night New Years Run

Sound Tribe Sector 9 will be gracing the stage of Atlanta Georgia's Tabernacle the 27th - 31st of December of this year. That is, of course, if you believe the current running rumors in the STS9 fan community. Exciting news for sure. The recent run of Denver, Colorado NYE shows have been a lot of fun and I know that the 'Rado kids had been expecting the tradition to continue. But alas, who can argue with a potential 5 nights at the Tabby? .... Your right, no one.

Keep checking back for more info on this (possible) epic announcement from the official S9org!

Sound Tribe might be announcing a 5 night run at this famed venue! Stay tuned!

Work With STS9 & Help Saxton Blow People's Minds

A message from Saxton Waller, STS9's Lighting Designer:

Collaboration idea... After doing these poster/t-shirt contests I have realized just how many amazing artists are out there in this community we have all created together. With that in mind, I would like to inspire all of you to take this i......dea of collaboration to the next level. As most of you know, we use all sorts of images, footage, and computer generated graphix and loops on the LED walls onstage. I am proposing that we all work on this together. The first idea is for all of you with nice cameras and knack for capturing beauty to go out and do just that.

I am in love with all of the PLANET EARTH series and other movies that capture all of the unique beauty that exists here on our planet. Lets get out there and capture some of it from our own perspectives. Time lapses of flowers, plants, lunar and solar cycles, Snow gathering and melting, cloud formations, thunderstorms, human behavior (rush hour, airports, train stations ect...) BE CREATIVE!!! So many different occurrences are happening in all of our communities on the daily. Lets capture some of this and share it with each other at the shows.

The second Idea is all about the artists out there that specialize in computer generated graphix and art in general. We are always looking for new artist to collaborate with and I just want to extend the search to involve all of you. I have thought about this for a while and now think I have a format that we can work with. If you are interested in creating some content for the shows, pick a tune and contact me here. Some tunes obviously have stuff going on that we are very happy with so I don't want anyone to waste their time. Contact me here and we can start moving forward with conveying the theme of the tune with specific ideas and images. This is a wonderful opportunity for those of you who are new to this game, have mad skillz and want your talents to be noticed and recognized. As well as an opportunity to work with us behind closed doors in the future and receiving compensation for all of your talents and hard work.

This is just the beginning of an idea that I think will be an ongoing art project for the next decade. A way for us all to share together, support one another, and celebrate each other every night on tour. We will soon launch some sort of share page where all of these images and videos can be posted for the band, myself, and everyone involved to check out. As for now, GET OUT THERE and start creating magic.

I am counting you to help us make the STS9 production a truly one a kind experience for all of us involved with this community. (Please keep everything tasteful and positive)

Much love and respect,
Saxton

Make sense? Sweet.  The prize for this time around will be a mint condition show poster from the 2005/2006 STS9 New Years Eve 'Live As Time Changes' concerts in Atlanta, GA!!

STS9 Returns to Colorado

It’s hard to believe that come September we’ll have seen the longest stretch of time since STS9 graced any stage, large or small, in the great state of Colorado in their well  over a decade plus career.  Well, wait no more!  Actually, a few more  months, BUT wait no more to know that… STS9 is officially returning to  the great state of Colorado for 3 shows this Sept. 8, 9 & 10.   Starting with a return to the Ogden Theatre in downtown Denver on Thursday Sept. 8th and continuing through the weekend with a one-two, Friday-Saturday punch at the fabled Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO Friday September 9th and Saturday September 10th. No band can say they have played Red Rocks EVERY YEAR straight since we first started back in 2003, well, except STS9.  That’s NINE YEARS OF MAGIC IN THE MAKING!  Join us for another piece of STS9 history.

LE J Garcia 'Slammed' on Canvas

To celebrate the return of STS9 to their old stomping grounds in Athens, Georgia and the commencement of the bands 2011 festival season, STS9 is excited to announce the release of J Garcia's new Limited Edition Print, 'Slammed.' Painted in a spirit that identifies with the importance of obstacles and triumphs, the imagery speaks of a place where drummer arms and hands serve as a solid steady artisanal anchor that allows for an exploration of a wild introspective interior landscape of patterned geometric momentum.
