STS9 Partners with LG to Keep Cell Phones Out of Landfills

STS9 will be partnering with LG ecoMobilization® to focus on a growing problem, a call to action to keep old cell phones out of landfills, and raise money for Rock Against Cancer on top of it all, through the Ones to Watch program. “When the Earth wins, you win.” That’s the underlying premise of LG ecoMobilization®, an innovative mobile phone recycling initiative that makes it both easy and rewarding for consumers to help reduce the harmful effects of e-waste on the environment. At numerous venues through out this tour STS9 will be collecting all small electronics of any brand for recycling – phones, tablets, MP3 players, GPSs, PDAs, batteries, chargers, accessories and more. The items can be working or non-working.

If you won’t be on tour or at the shows this month or do not want to carry your old electronics, you can also text keyword “STS9” to 95173 and receive a pre-paid shipping envelope in the mail.

At the end of the program, LG will record the number of devices recycled and cut a check to the charity of STS9’s choice for $2.00 per device recycled, which will all be donated in full to Rock Against Cancer! Get rid of old junk, help a great cause, and save the environment… you can’t lose!

According to a recent post on the band's Facebook page, and the posting of this photo- it seems as though
the Sound Tribe Sector Nine guys have recently taken a field trip to NASA.
Looks like Velmer got stuck on photo duties....
